14) What different kinds of blinds are available?
There are four main kinds of window blinds. There are the horizontal type such as aluminium and wood venetian blinds. There are obviously vertical blinds which have fabric strips or louvers that hang vertically from an aluminium head rail, and there are also roller blinds that roller up and down. Bamboo blinds fall into this category in terms of their operation as they also roll up and down but can also fold up like a roman blind, which leads us nicely onto roman blinds that are made using curtain fabric and are fully lined for a very sumptuous look.
15) How do I decide on which type of blinds to choose?
That all depends on what the primary purpose of them is and also personal preference and budget constraints. For a very luxurious look then roman blinds are the obvious choice. They come with either standard lining or blackout lining for extra light control. If light control is not the main concern then bamboo blinds or French pinoleum blinds are an excellent choice as they gently filter the light rather than block it out, which is ideal for a room or conservatory where you still want some light but a very natural look.
Roller blinds are very versatile and with our new range of colours and patterned fabrics they are also extremely attractive. With blackout fabrics for a bedroom and waterproof blinds for the bathroom and kitchen, roller blinds are one of the most popular and practical blinds we manufacture. For a more natural look there are wooden venetian blinds which offer fabulous light and privacy control. The same can be said for aluminium venetian blinds which are also very easy to keep clean. Then we have vertical blinds which offer fabulous light control due to the fact the louvres can be rotated to almost any angle, and with the slats being made from fabric they provide a slightly softer look.
The choice is yours obviously, as you know your home and decor best, but if you do have any questions regarding suitability or if a particular blind is better than another for a specific application then please get in touch, we are here to make the process of buying blinds are hassle free for you as possible.
16) How do I clean my window blinds?
With most of our blinds all you have to do is dust them regularly with a cloth, feather duster or gently with a vacuum cleaner to keep them looking fabulous. If for some reason you need to clean them more thoroughly then a damp cloth can be used. If you are unsure about how to clean a specific blind then please get in touch.
